down town Venture Labs (dtVL), the business incubator of Assam down town University, hosted a successful "Investor-Startup Connect" event as part of dtVL Startup Week.
Supported by the TIDE 2.0 program of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, the event served as a dynamic platform for over 50 startups from Northeast India and beyond to present their products and ideas directly to leading investors and ecosystem enablers.
Throughout the dtVL Startup Week, startups participated in a series of in-depth workshops that covered essential areas for startup success, including market research, idea validation, branding, design thinking, product discovery, and the art of pitching. These sessions equipped founders with practical skills and insights to help them scale their businesses effectively.
Deepak Agrawal of Venture Catalyst, Kunwar Vishishta Rakesh of Punch Capital, Sumit Dutta of Unwind Ventures, and Raja Singh Bhurji of The Stepup Venture were among the well-known investors that attended the Investor-Startup Connect, which was a highlight of the week. These investors interacted extensively with the startups in attendance, offering insightful commentary and possible sources of finance. The Vice Chancellor of Assam down town University presided over the event's opening session, where he underlined the university's dedication to encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship in the area.
In addition to the pitch sessions, the day concluded with a Startup Ecosystem Meet, creating a valuable networking opportunity for startups in Northeast India to connect with incubators, mentors, advisors, and other key ecosystem players.
