Xudhakanthaloi Smriti Tarpan - Death Anniversary of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika.
Assam down town University commemorated the death anniversary of the legendary Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, through a tribute event organized by the Programme of Performing Arts in collaboration with the Music and Dance Club. This special ceremony honored Dr. Hazarika’s profound contributions to music, culture, and Assamese heritage under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
The event featured vibrant singing and dance competitions, where students showcased their talents through Dr. Hazarika’s timeless songs, celebrating his legacy with creativity and passion. In the dance competition, the first prize was awarded to Brishti Mausam Kashyap with Harshita Barman in second place and Julfia Zannat Khan in third. The singing competition saw Alishmita Pathak win first place, followed by Ishita Kotoky in second, and a tie for third between Sneha Dey and Parthana Hazarika.
Mr. Utpal Datta, Dean of Performing Arts, concluded the event with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all participants, organizers, and attendees. He emphasized the importance of Dr. Hazarika’s legacy and encouraged students to carry forward his ideals by embracing the power of music and culture.
