Assam down town University had the privilege of attending the first-ever Youth Immersion Program, an insightful initiative hosted by the Assam Legislative Assembly. 

This pioneering program aims to educate and engage the youth by providing them with firsthand exposure to the inner workings, procedures, and practices of a legislative body. Designed for graduate students across Guwahati, the program stands as a remarkable effort to foster political awareness and civic responsibility among the younger generation.

The event was formally inaugurated by Shri Biswajit Daimary, Hon’ble Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly, who outlined the key objectives and agenda of the program. Our students had the opportunity to interact personally with him, engaging in meaningful conversations about the relevance of political awareness and sharing their individual reflections on the event.

The inauguration was followed by a grand felicitation ceremony honoring Shri Shankar Chaudhary, Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, as the chief guest, alongside other esteemed dignitaries including Dr. Nani Gopal Mahanta (Vice-Chancellor, Gauhati University), Dr. Numal Momin (Deputy Speaker, Assam Legislative Assembly), Shri Ramendra Narayan Kalita (Member, Assam Legislative Assembly), and Shri Dulal Pegu (Secretary, Assam Legislative Assembly).

The program featured a vibrant cultural segment, with energetic performances of Bihu, Bodo, and Garba dances, along with other classical and artistic displays that added a celebratory spirit to the occasion.
